Since 1950, The Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation has been providing exquisite and skillful care to our veterans at the Iowa City Veterans Administration Medical Center.
We see patients with a full spectrum of musculoskeletal diseases and injuries with performing a large number of joint replacements, shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgeries and hand surgeries. Our dedicated staff see over 6,000 patients and perform close to 600 surgeries yearly.
Our team of physicians, mid-level providers, residents, nurses and case managers work as one team to make sure the best care is given to our patients. Our physicians have full schedules of elective surgeries four days a week with clinic most days of the week staffed by two mid-level providers who see patients independently, schedule tests, perform injections and identify patients who should be considered for surgical treatment.
